We will investigate working with the body from the perspective of our inner truth, our own needs, necessities and urgencies. Within our personal spiritual journeys we will look at inner contact, self-realisation and breaking off habits. Participants interested in developing existing performance projects and creating new projects will be supported during the workshop.

With the curatorship of Performistanbul, Bilsart hosts the live broadcast of Leman S. Darıcıoğlu’s month-long performance at the Aga Khan Award-winning B2 House. The work sprouts from the architecture of B2 House and invites its audience to question exposure, openness and closeness, the desire for self-sufficiency, and the acceptance of the deficiency of the human being who is always incomplete.
Art, Body, Space workshop at Nesin Art Village between 24 – 30 June

This programme is delivered by artists Aslı Bostancı and Leman Sevda Darıcıoğlu together with curators and academics Livia Alexander and Charlotte Kent. In its second week, the programme turns toward sound-body practices, improvisation and performance, providing an intensive study on the use of the body in artistic practices.
In Venice International Performance Art Week 2019
5–14 June 2019
Leman Sevda Darıcıoğlu has been selected for the Venice International Performance Art Week Summer Class 2019, Dis-Sensus. The ten-day intensive workshop is part of VIPAW’s educational programme and will be led by performance duos VestAndPage and Andrigo & Aliprandi at C32 in Venice. A final presentation of the performances will take place on 14 June.
The artist’s participation has been made possible with the support of the Faruk Sade Art Grant.
SHHH…! (SES)TEN EKSİLTEREK DEĞİL EKLENEREK OLUŞUR SESSİZLİK

The artist takes part in SHHH…! with a video excerpt and small installation from their six-hour performance calculus of mouth, realised at the 18th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh. Coordinated by Derya Yücel, SHHH…! takes place at santralistanbul Energy Museum.

Cleaning The House workshop held by Marina Abramovic Institute

The artist will be in Marina Abramovic Institute’s Cleaning The House workshop for the second time, led by artist Paula Garcia, to practise the Abramovic Method developed for preparing the body for long-durational performances.

A friendship Laboratory on Challenge and Transformation in International Performance Art Festival at Warehouse9, Copenhagen
30 hours — 10 hours per day over 3 days
A friendship laboratory on transformation and challenge is a long-durational performance project stemming from the artists’ personal story. Pınar and Leman take their friendship out of its habitat and into an experimental environment to research the transformative and healing effects of intimacy and connection. Leman mainly takes their physical body and Pınar mainly their voice body as tools; their roles and states interpenetrate as they investigate creating an emotional body together.

Duration: 30 hours — 10 hours per day, over 3 days
Audiences can come and go as they please.
In unspeakable home, enchanting companions exhibition at Badischer Kunstverein, Karlsruhe, Germany

The artist reproduces their previous work Golden Butterflies (2014) for the exhibition unspeakable home, enchanting companions, curated by Derya Bayraktaroğlu at Badischer Kunstverein. The new iteration adds layers that question placing a public artwork into a museum and mobilises the audience to take the work to the streets through a digital map accessed by QR code. It also brings being from outside the Schengen borders into question.
During the exhibition, the artist aims to collect the project’s outputs through the hashtag #goldenbutterflies.

As part of the first-anniversary events of needed: you, 672 hour-long live process, Leman Sevda Darıcıoğlu has a talk with artist Ali Emir Tapan through the 28-day performance looking after a rose, discussing artistic manifestations of opening/surrendering the body and inner self, the dilemmas of attempting to create concepts through the artist’s own body, performance art as a strange institution, opacity and transparency.
The talk will be in Turkish; there will be no English translation.
The I Is Always in the Field of the Other at Evliyagil Museum, Ankara
Leman Sevda Darıcıoğlu’s first work, the performative video Philia (2012), will be exhibited as part of the Agah Uğur Collection in The I Is Always in the Field of the Other, curated by Beral Madra at Evliyagil Museum in Ankara.
