Dream Pavillion
“Unexpected Territories”, 26. TÜYAP International Art Fair
Istanbul
2016
Dream Pavilion is a search for land outside of the mainlands of the body and sexuality, a discovery towards unexpected territory of sexuality. It brings together works of 37 artists/activists who question politics of the body and desire, manifesting the queer experience of the geography we live in. The works range from installation to photography, video to performance. Dream Pavilion handles the “pavilion” as an area of local queer experience and bases its aesthetic language on it. It is also an attempt to break the limiting white cube aesthetic.
Dream has organized a program which consists of 9 days of film screening and 7 days of performance, simultaneously with the exhibition.
